Dominic Harlan grew up in Hertfordshire, just outside London

He found school very challenging, but loved getting involved with anything to do with singing, dancing and acting. He tried piano lessons as a young boy, but progress was slow. He soon gave up and set his sights on becoming an actor.

Teenage Years

In his teens Dom met a professional musician who inspired him to throw his heart and soul into making music.

Dom soon found that he was practicing the piano, listening and thinking about music all day long.

Later, he went to the Royal Academy of Music in London. After graduating,  he started performing all around the world. He also began putting on concerts, musicals and operas with children and adults from all kinds of backgrounds and with all sorts of talents.

A Significant Meeting

He met a headmistress at a London school who persuaded Dom to overcome his life-long fear of schools and become a school teacher. She was right, and for six years, Dom threw himself into making music with children every day and loved it.

Dom has worked for many of the UK’s leading arts venues, as well as many wonderful up and coming ones. He also devises, performs and acts in plays and concerts that he has specially created for children.

Occasionally, he creates work just for grown-ups too
